Hi, I’m thinking about this matter. Does It apply after the death of Christ on the cross?
I think so.
Please help me.
That’s an interesting question. I know Deut 26 talks ab the tithe for the Levites, orphans and widows. My personal belief is that it applies today. However, our government taxes, which are way more than 10%, are supposed to take care of the widows and orphans. Our taxes today would not care for the church or priesthood (Levites). I’m just not sure. I’m all for love offerings.
I think one problem with today is where?
Sorry I don’t understand
With so many false churches today, do they deserve a tithe to teach false doctrine? It is false food. Would anyone go to a restaurant every week, pay for their meal ahead of time, and then get served a blank plate? Would the Lord want us to contribute to their leading people astray? Would anyone accept this learning in a college or tech school?
Should tithes go to a church, when they don’t help to feed the poor, help the fatherless etc., all the while the minister, lives on the lake with a boat dock in a 7-figure house while many of the congregation don’t know where the money is coming from to replace their leaking roof?
Should the tithe go to build these multimillion dollar churches, marble, stone, big screen tv’s, etc., so we can hear about the ministers 4-week vacation and 3 verses?
Many people have left the church in seeing the hypocrisy in the examples above. Today, many churches have turned into bureaucratic businesses with the minister needing an assistant, a secretary and her assistant, so on and so on. They are top heavy, same as our government.
Back in the day, the church was the government with a king in charge. The tithe went to all things listed in scripture and I would think it also kept the surrounding cities functioning, using the surplus after the temple, priests and the leadership was given what they deserved.
When it was done correctly, the people were taken care of and there was no waste to speak of.
Just some thoughts. This is what I meant in my previous comment.
Hey brother, my tithe will go to Brandon.
And to the Shepherds chapel.
My wife will give the half to the catholic church here. But i can not go against it. I know what you say. I planted the seeds and I hope The Lord will make them grow.
Anyway thank you
Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying you shouldn’t, just, in my opinion, some are not worthy.
