Drat! I seem to have come to the wrong place again.

And did she go and sin no more? Of course not.

The flesh will always be sinful…
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

All one need do to be saved is believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. True faith in him is all that is required. Saved by Grace.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;.

I asked to be convinced I am wrong in coming here. I would have thought I’d have received at least one response telling me why I am wrong. Yet nothing. Not one response.

Maybe that is telling in itself.

Hey patrick. I enjoy you being here!

Now let’s take a look at the parable of the talents

Matthew 25:14-30
[14]For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

Ok so this is about the kingdom of heaven

[15]And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

Ok so this is about christians getting things from God

[16]Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

Ok so he did Gods work

[17]And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.

Ok he did the same

[18]But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

Ok so he did alot of work but not what God wanted

[19]After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

Ok so Jesus coming back to judge

[20]And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

Ok so he’s proud to have served

[21]His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Ok so he was faithful. His works showed his faith and He was let into heaven

[22]He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

Same as other guy

[23]His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Ok same God is pleased he showed faith through works

[24]Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

Ok so this guy has excuses

[25]And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

Ok so he had fear. The fearful are the first thrown into the lake.

[26]His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

Ok so hes a follower a Christian. It says his Lord Gods angry

[27]Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

He did not do what God said

[28]Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

God rewarded others for thier faithfulness

[29]For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

Do what God says and your fruits should show it

[30]And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Oh no hes cast into hell but he was a follower. But be did not endure to the end he went against God

His faith was dead he had no works.

Ok, so just believe and trust, no repentance? People believe in Santa Claus and the Moon landing, does that make it true? Was Judas ok, I mean he was a disciple?

James 2:14-26
[14]What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

Can faith alone save?

[15]If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

Others in need

[16]And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

What Good did you do if you had excess
And did nothing

[17]Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Faith alone is dead. Your fruits will show who has faith and believes. Many are deceived

[18]Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Both are needed

[19]Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Even the demons believe. They believe more than most in the new test. Look how they talked to him and acted vs other humams in flesh. So many believe like they do and do nothing sin wilfully think its fine and they have demonic faith like the demons

[20]But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Speaks for it self

[21]Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

[22]Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

Yes

[23]And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

Yes he believed. But he acted on that belief. Many don’t

[24]Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Yes works justify you your faith.

[25]Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

Any can be saved. She was a harlot

[26]For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Yup. If you believe and do not act on it just as the parable of the talents he was thrown in the lake of fire

Obviously you do not accept the promise of Jesus? That of eternal Salvation for believers?

If you did you would seek out the deeper meaning of that parable of talents.

The master is leaving and will return is none other than Jesus himself. Who is full of grace and mercy, and not known as a slave-master, or for being harsh to the poor, so there is clearly more to this parable, than what one would assume it suggests at first. However if you look at it from the perspective of accepting Jesus and salvation, which leads to bountiful riches and rewards, then you will quickly understand the third servant is an unbeliever/unrighteous and so was cast out by the judgement of Jesus, for not taking the opportunity to be saved.

Simple really.

He called him Lord and God gave him talents which means hes a follower. GOD does not give to the wicked.

No repentance in the way you interpret repentance Phil.

Though, I have repented, as I have changed my mind going from unbelief to belief in the Gospel and Jesus of the bible as my Lord and Saviour.

I do. You believe like the demons do.

Many will say Lord Lord, yet will be met with those awful words ‘Depart from me I never knew you’.

God gave to Babylon remember… And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.

I agree. Many will not make it.

If you really believed in ‘Eternal Salvation’ Jeffrey, you would of course know that it means what it says.

And unless you do believe in Christ alone for salvation, you are using works and your own efforts to gain it, which is arrogant and prideful. You are literally saying to God that He didn’t do enough for your salvation. therefore you have to help Him.

What an insult.

Ya its eternal for those who make it

Read the verses. I quoted Bible. You quoted patrick.

Not really sure how you wanna twist this :man_shrugging:

Now seek the significance of that verse after having the bible confirm to you works are not required for salvation by this verse…

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Yes not by the works of the law. Faith without works is dead. You have to do more than believe. Even the demons believe. Are they going to heaven?

Kamala believes. Is she going to heaven?

What baptist church do you go to?

You really need to take it to the Lord with prayer and perhaps fasting Jeffrey, as we could go around in circles day after day.

I have laid out sufficient for you to appreciate that salvation is by grace (a gift). So 'I’ll leave it there.

Though I’ll leave you a hint to help, James is not talking of Justification by God as he fully understood Abraham was counted as righteous by faith long before the sacrifice of Isaac. So he is clearly talking of evidence of righteousness by works to other people and unbelievers.

Simple really.

I have. I used to believe what you do until i studied for my self and prayed.
