But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Scripture isn’t meant to be something we only hear or agree with — it’s meant to be lived. James reminds us that if obedience doesn’t follow, it’s easy to confuse knowing God’s Word with actually being faithful to it.

I think being a doer of the word implies reading The Word, seeking The Lord with your whole heart, and living following The Word at each and every step of tour life.
