Simply explained, our spirit resides in a vessel, which is either a natural or spiritual body. When the body and spirit are combined, that describes our soul.
Hello Brandon, hope you are doing fine along with your family…especially in the times we are living on earth…regarding the explanation of spirit, body and soul, I have a question for you…once the spirit departs from the flesh body which returns to the dust the spirit returns to God, this means that there is no soul anymore but just the spirit that returns to God?
At the time of the resurrection upon Jesus return, will we be in a spiritual body with a soul or only in a spiritual body?
Maybe my question is a little strange but itvis nice to know in which form will we be at the resurrection. Also when Jesus died and resurrected, did he ressurect with both body and soul?
Thank you for your answer and may God bless you and protect you from the evil the keeps abounding until the grace and mercy of our Heavenly Father God will surabound as good is always triumphant over evil…
P.S. a question out of context: Brandon I always wander about a biblical passage in Luke 18:
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.
Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
This last verse has been taking a lot of my thinking…Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
This verse has been awaking up my faith and my spirit and ask myself questions…I have the fear of the Lord regarding this question that Jesus is asking us his elect today?
Thank you Brandon for answering…
Have a nice day in the Lord Jesus our everything…amen amen amen
…and thank you for your devotion
We’re doing great!
I hope you are as well, despite this crazy place we call earth.
In Scripture, soul and spirit are often used interchangeably. However, when we get down to the nitty-gritty of it all, they describe different things.
You don’t have a soul, you are a soul…
When your spirit is combined with a body, no matter the type, you become a living soul, just like Adam, (Genesis 2:7).
- So today, my spirit is combined with my natural body, forming the soul.
- When I meet God, my spirit will be combined with my heavenly body, forming the soul.
See above, but to reiterate, our spirit will be combined with our heavenly body, forming our soul.
Yes.
Christ’s spirit re-entered his natural body, which formed the soul again. Remember what James 2:26 said, “the body without the spirit is dead.” A natural body is just an element of the earth. It’s nothing without a spirit to make it a complete, soul.
I hope that helps!
