The archbishop of York has suggested that opening words of the Lord’s Prayer, recited by Christians all over the world for 2,000 years, may be “problematic” because of their patriarchal association.
“I know the word ‘father’ is problematic for those whose experience of earthly fathers has been destructive and abusive, and for all of us who have laboured rather too much from an oppressively patriarchal grip on life,” he said.
Back before we entered the twilight zone, nobody who was of a normal mindset had a problem with calling God, Father.
She added: “The big question is, do we really believe that God believes that male human beings bear his image more fully and accurately than women? The answer is absolutely not.”
Lady, it isn’t what He believes it is, it is what He says it is. You don’t have to like it, but you will show up. Just another intellectual idiot.
Amen to that, Kay! I always had a problem with that, having been raised in the RCC. It was the RCC that is partly responsible for my seeking the Truth of God because they mention His Name (which awakened my slumbering spirit) but I always knew that He isn’t in the RCC buildings, in fact, He isn’t ANYWHERE in the Catholic church! It is the seat of the beast and a woman rides it. The RCC was founded by Constantine in 314 AD to put an end to the slaughter of Christians and to stop the spread of True Christianity which was taking over the world. It was the biggest example of, “if you can’t beat them, join them” and pervert them from WITHIN. That’s what happened and they changed all of their pagan Roman deities names to match the real Christian names and thus hide their paganism behind the world’s largest “Christian” church!
