This article challenges some deeply ingrained assumptions many Christians have grown up with — ideas that often go unquestioned from the pulpit and are even taught to children as spiritual obligations.
After reading it, consider this:
Were you ever taught that supporting modern Israel was a Christian duty?
Did you assume Genesis 12:3 applied to a modern nation rather than to Abraham?
Have you ever been encouraged to examine these teachings directly through Scripture for yourself?
This discussion isn’t about politics — it’s about what the Bible actually says and how easily Scripture can be reshaped through repetition and authority.
Let’s talk honestly:
What part of this article challenged you the most, and why?
When you say “some deeply ingrained assumptions” you could not be more correct, at least for me. I did not grow up going to church, but my father encouraged me to study to find the truth myself. But even then some misconceptions have crept in. This is truly eye opening, and I will be taking a closer look from now on.
“Were you ever taught that supporting modern Israel was a Christian duty?”
Yes.
“Did you assume Genesis 12:3 applied to a modern nation rather than to Abraham?”
Yes.
“Have you ever been encouraged to examine these teachings directly through Scripture for yourself?”
Yes, but things didn’t really come into focus until I started reading your articles a couple years ago; I’m almost 78 years old so I was deceived for a long time. Thanks much for clearing things up for me Brandon! I’m looking forward to reading parts 2 & 3.
