Is Heaven and paradise the same place?

Name: Martha Wells-Smith
Question: Is Heaven and Paradise the same place?

Answer: Martha, thanks for the question.

In a sense, yes…

Before we dive in here, the word “paradise” only appears 3 times in the Bible.

The word means,

Of Oriental origin (compare [H6508]); a park, that is, (specifically) an Eden (place of future happiness, “paradise”): - paradise.

A “place of future happiness.” I like that!

All right, now let’s see what Jesus said about paradise.

Luke 23:43
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Jesus made this statement to one of the criminals that were being crucified with Him. So once the criminal passed away, he would be with Jesus, in paradise, which was located in Heaven.

Here’s another verse that may help…

Revelation 2:7
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

So everything around God is “paradise.” Wherever God dwells, that is paradise.

When our Heavenly Father comes to earth after the Millennium, then paradise will be on earth, as God will be on earth, with us, forever, (Revelation 21:1-5).

We, as flesh, can’t even fathom what it’ll be like. It’s a truly pity, I try everyday to imagine it. I think we don’t have to be obsessed trying to discern that we can’t. We must go step by step and live the moment. Tomorrow is The Lord’s.
Have a nice weekend and blessings!
