If you look up the word in the Hebrew text, you won’t find anything about “ruddy” or “red in the face.”

- In Genesis 1:26, “man” is אָדָם and refers to man / mankind (humanity).
- In Genesis 1:27, “man” is אֵת־הָאָדָם (“the man”).
- In Genesis 2:7, “man” is אֵת־הָאָדָם (“the man”).
So to be clear: this does not mean “red in the face,” and Genesis 1:26–27 isn’t teaching race at all — it’s teaching that mankind was created in God’s image.
