It seems healthy foods are commonly cited as bad for our health now, while the frankenfood typically found on the store shelves are never questioned.
Thoughts on this one, and other perspectives?

This is why I go out of my way to look for “Contains Bioengineered Ingredients” on the label.
Quality and safety you can trust.
Interesting you posted this. My husband was really upset since we read this yesterday. He’s been taking turmeric for years, and had asked his dr ab it. Now this. It helps with his arthritis and so he will be looking for a natural alternative. Not to mention that he’s going to have a stern talk with his dr. Funny, I have been taking it for years too and I actually don’t know why I started on it. Haha it’s going in the garbage. I like supplements for health but now will go back and do current research on each. I also don’t buy supplements that’s aren’t made in US.
More FEAR mongering aimed at the alternative health folks? Who to trust anymore?
150 billion in 2023.Not regulated by the Fda.I Can see why they would need a study.
Whatever the gov says I’m doing the opposite.
Unfortunately I dont have time to reply in depth here, but trust me when I say you dont have to worry about the majority of what they say in these studies. They pick out certain items found within an herb or plant and do the testing. Not taking into account the whole plant. I find that over and over again when researching and it just blows my mind. People that take turmeric don’t have to worry! They’re always picking God’s plants apart amd scaring people with their biased tests. Example…calcium is good for your bones…take our processed calcium! Oops, calcium supplements can cause kidney stones…don’t take calcium! Oops…turns out you can take calcium supplements if it has magnesium with it…take these supplements instead! When all along, God made plants with calcium in it, and guess what…these plants also contain magnesium and potasium. Its amazing how our so called experts can be so stupid . Oh wait…those same experts believe in the big bang theory. Always finding a way to disprove God.
I dont have it handy at the moment, but i can 99.9% tell you that if there is a risk of kidney damage with these things, its because they’re not using the whole plant and there is something in that plant that supports the kidneys!
Let’s not forget the whole LOW FAT crap they handed us…all proven wrong. Please don’t trust these idiots with their “expert” research…because that is exactly what they are. Well, I should say misguided and brainwashed people…but I just get so frustrated !
Please dont worry about this study…read my comment below. Turmeric is safe! I’m going to be busy this whole week, but I can definitely help you out after that. Just keep taking that turmeric, just make sure it’s good quality turmeric.
OH…I should also state that they have been trying to regulate the supplements for DECADES amd this is just propaganda to get those regulations pushed through!!
Thanks Kay, great comments. And yes, I’ve seen it over and over. Breaking news how “something” good is now bad, but hey they have a solution. So the turmeric we have has black pepper in it - and then I’ve seen it with Ginger too. Prefect examples. New and improved. Anyway, my husband did send a letter to his dr so it will be interesting to get his take. The dr had previously said that it wouldn’t hurt his liver (he has underlying condion) but may help. Im sure just one study may not change his opinion.
I take supplements but don’t usually ask my dr for an opinion because I dont think they research alternatives for pharmaceuticals. Curious what you think about the supplements that advertise that they are just fruits and or veggies.
I don’t want think the gov should regulate supplements but obviously if they see money to be made it may happen.
i have used turmeric for years. So far, my liver enzymes are great. But I do use a very good product. The problem with a lot of research, is they used corrupted materials (like GMO), and even for meat products they never tell you if the meat is 100% grassfed and clean or if the animal meat studied has been in a CAFO. Some societies eat turmeric daily in many dishes, and notice how they don’t mention that in the study.
I think I will add another little tidbit about turmeric (from which comes curcumin)…they are studying that substance because it seems to hurt or kill cancer cells. so, how could they make money off cancer treatment if they can’t patent the herb? Well, come out with a study like this, everyone pulls back consuming it, the producer loses money and shuts down providing it…and the pharma comes in with their new drug. makes me sick thinking about it
Just FYI, the Dr told my husband to discontinue taking turmeric after reviewing this study.
