We use a Berkey filter and have for years. We are on well water and filter the unsoftened water through it. We also save our Kombucha bottles and fill them with water for out and about.
Side note: I used to brew kombucha - so much better than the store bought which are typically loaded with sugar. If you buy kombucha, look for the lower sugar count varieties.
