Drat! I seem to have come to the wrong place again.

Never said you weren’t but you infer that it isn’t necessary.
Never said that is what I think either.

What I said was, after you confess your sins, and accept Christ, you cannot continue to sin willingly and expect to be covered by the cross for willful sins. Many churches teach this which, in my opinion, is false doctrine. Good luck to those who do so.

The effort has to be made to live the clean lifestyle. It is a 2-sided contract.

Perfect example is you cannot live the gay lifestyle after repentance and expect to receive salvation. What are you repenting for, nothing. If you continue, you are not sorry in the first place. Christ on the cross is not a life insurance policy, so you live how you want.

You can’t be a minister, confess to be saved by the cross and then marry two men in your church when God says it is an abomination and expect to still be under grace. Period.

Mr. Edwards, if you were in such a state of “drat” why you would stay here amongst us “beguiled” heathens?

After reading the last three quotes from you this verse comes to mind.

Proverbs 6:19

This is something that God views as an abomination.

Updated:

That proves it, I rest my case.

Hello Sir ,

These Christians in these verses here
are quite a ways into the tribulation and wasnt rapture away

Revelation 14:12 (KJV) Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Revelation 14:13 (KJV) And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

I did some research on the once saved always saved and thought I would post this for whomever was interested.

Never heard the term before but it is called “Easy Believism”. Below are some things I thought explained it very well:

The problem with easy believism is that, in its desire to defend salvation by faith alone (a vitally needed effort), it severs the biblical ties between faith and repentance and between faith and the results of salvation.
Repentance is a change of mind from an embrace of sin and a rejection of Christ to a rejection of sin and an embrace of Christ (Mark 1:15; Acts 2:38; 3:18). Repentance is not a work that earns salvation. Repentance, just like faith, is something that God grants to those He has drawn to salvation (Acts 11:18). Repentance and belief/trust are the two ingredients of biblical saving faith.
Faith in Christ, according to the Bible, has an impact on the lives of those who believe. 2nd Corinthians 5:17 declares, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has
come.” The idea that the new creation could permanently look exactly like the old creation is foreign to the Bible. How could the creation be new if it is the same as the old? How could the old have passed away if it is still entirely in control? How could the new have come if there is absolutely no evidence of it? When people come to faith in Christ, they progressively go from producing the acts of the flesh (Galatians 5:19–21) to the Holy Spirit producing in them His fruit (Galatians 5:22–23)

The other view is “Lordship Salvation”.

The doctrine of lordship salvation teaches that submitting to Christ as Lord goes hand-in-hand with trusting in Christ as Savior. Lordship salvation is the opposite of what is sometimes called easy-believism or the teaching that salvation comes through an acknowledgement of a certain set of facts.
The gospel call to faith presupposes that sinners must repent of their sin and yield to
Christ’s authority. In other words, a sinner who refuses to repent is not saved, for he cannot cling to his sin and the Savior at the same time. And a sinner who rejects Christ’s authority in his life does not have saving faith, for true faith encompasses a surrender to God. Thus, the gospel requires more than making an intellectual decision or mouthing a prayer. The sheep will follow their Shepherd in submissive obedience.
Lordship salvation teaches that a true profession of faith will be backed up by evidence of faith. If a person is truly following the Lord, then he or she will obey the Lord’s instructions. A person who is living in willful, unrepentant sin has obviously not chosen to follow Christ, because Christ calls us out of sin and into righteousness. Indeed, the Bible clearly teaches that faith in Christ will result in a changed life (2 Corinthians
5:17; Gala ans 5:22–23; James 2:14–26).

Lordship salvation is not a salvation-by-works doctrine. Advocates of lordship salvation are careful to say that salvation is by grace alone, that believers are saved before their faith ever produces any good works, and that Christians can and do sin. However, true salvation will inevitably lead to a changed life. The saved will be dedicated to their Savior. A true Christian will not feel comfortable living in unconfessed, unforsaken sin.

Found this very informative and laid out very well.

Your said this is not what you think, yet your statements clearly show you believe including works as part of salvation.

Like I said prior, those who backdoor works as necessary for salvation are what I consider proud at heart. They feel the dire need to be involved in their own salvation process, because of this it is almost impossible to turn them to Christ alone and his grace to be saved. Showing them the relevant scripture verses have nil effect due to their arrogant pride.

If nothing else in scripture shows you that belief alone is sufficient to be saved it is verses such as Acts 16:31 & 4:12. Ephesians 2:8-9. John 3:16 & 14:6. Yet they are glibly tossed aside whenever presented to Lordship Salvationists.

If you have a relationship with Jesus that should be your number one focus, if you take care of that God will take care of everything else, including works.

I am here awaiting a reply as to why I should stay.

As of yet, none here who claim to be ‘working’ for the Lord have answered me.

‘Easy Believism’ ‘Greacy Gracers’ ‘OSASers’ and so on. Like I said prior who has beguiled you to ridicule the ones showing you the simplicity in Christ?

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ..

They are not the church Wes. They are the tribulations saints commended for their patience & perseverance. The church phase is finished at the rapture, and is not mentioned again after chapter 3 until Christs return in Chapter 19.

Hey patrick since you are new here can you tell us a little bit about you??

Hope you have a great day.

The church is not mentioned after chapter 3 because it will be in a state of terminal apostasy.

To me, the woman in Revelation is the New Israel of God, spiritual Israel. His true bride and church. Members to be delivered up. (Galatians 6:15-16) The old Israel being the 12 tribes.

The rest are the apostate church.

What the whole church?

Y’all have some funny ideas here. I’ll leave you to it.

That statement could go either way here!

What’s your idea on what happened in Genesis 6?

Hey pat can you answer please? Or are you just here to cause problems? I know your idealogy you don’t care about sin and it has no meaning. But let’s try to be a good Christian brother.

The Church that Christ started before man divvyed up.That one.I wasnt talking about babtist or pentecostals or anything. But we do have 7 churches and 5 arent in good shape right?

I implied the church Christ started, (believers.) Not denominations buildings or anything else.

You are saying the whole of believers will be “in a state of eternal apostacy”?

@Patrick anything? Nothing?

Regarding those who lead questionable lifestyles and claim belief in Jesus, He straight up tells the disciples the importance of righteousness in one’s life in Matthew 5:20:

Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

To me, that doesn’t indicate one can live his life however he so chooses as long as he believes in Jesus.

As for the rapture theory, I see no support for it in Mark 13:13:

Mar 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

The word endure as used in the above Scripture is quite telling in its definition:

G5278
ὑπομένω
hupomenō
hoop-om-en’-o
From G5259 and G3306; to stay under (behind), that is, remain; figuratively to undergo, that is, bear (trials), have fortitude, persevere: - abide, endure, (take) patient (-ly), suffer, tarry behind.
