Are you guys that sad you can’t read the bible. All the people were born from Eve. Just because Cain went else where it only means Adam & Eve had many children, you would think being 100s of years old there would be many children, which is exactly what it is, oh, those other offspring of Adam & Eve were not mention >>> Genesis 3-20
Paul, I’d love to welcome you to our community, but is it necessary to insult your Christian brothers just because you disagree with them? I mean, there’s literally thousands of Christian denominations, they’re all not correct. So we all have some level of error, including yourself sir.
If you disagree, state why and provide Scripture to back up your point. Then, we can all learn and mature from there. Thanks so much.
Which part don’t understand from Genesis 3-20 ?
Genesis 4:1-2
Eve bare Cain and Able.
Verse 2 - she “again” bare - to continue in birth, augment
Verse 8-16 - Cain kills Able, banished from Eden, afraid of others on earth to kill him. Cain went to Nod. Who was he afraid of. No other children from Eve at this point.
Verse 17- Cain marries, who??
Verse 25- Adam knew Eve “again” - iteration or continuance…
God hath appointed me “another” seed instead of Abel - generally next, other, following (his replacement)
Seth being the next child born, Cain married into another race from east of Eden, toward Arabia.
Genesis 3:20 - Eve is the mother of all the living…through Christ, Eve being the seed to our savior.
I started thinking of this in a logical sense.
What if you were the only 2 people on the planet, and your wife gave birth to 2 sons. Then the one kills the other and the creator of the whole universe expels him from your area to a foreign land.
What would the Lord of all things do first to move along His plan? Would He bless you with a girl or son? Was it more important to satisfy the lonely murderer or bring forth the seed to Christ?
What would you do if your next child that God blesses you with was a girl? Would you raise her according to the Lord and keep her with the family, or would you raise her and then tell her to vacate to the foreign land and marry your murderous son?
Would you want any of your children to be with your murderous son? I would think if the Lord wanted him around any of the family, He wouldn’t have banished him in the first place.
Whoever was alive when Eve was alive, then she is the mother of them “All” … What you are doing is adding your own opinion instead of taking what the Bible said
Was she the mother of Adam?
Some believe in the creation of the line to Christ, after the 6th day and some do not. I personally do.
Today, to my knowledge, DNA shows us we all did not come from one set of parents. (Without some form of evolution) Even though there are some very rare cases of white skin baby’s being born to black parents and vice versa, but to my knowledge, never involving the other races. This still does not explain the other markers within the race other than the degree of skin pigment.
I also do not believe, as some do, that the Lord changed the people’s DNA at the tower of Babel. That would be an opinion.
What we try to do here is to be like the Bereans, dig and dig. Some use logic and some do not. There are many verses that need logic to further explain things, or it can be left alone, no harm, no foul.
Genesis 4:25 is one example.
All we are told here is that Adam knew his wife again, which brought Seth. Nowhere does it say he knew her after Cain and Able, or before Seth.
So, using your view toward us, you cannot say that Adam had any children between Cain and Seth. That would be an opinion.
Genesis 5:2-5 is another example.
Does this verse mean Adam was 130 years old when he had Seth? (We need verse 4-5 to show that he was) (Some online still say we don’t know for sure, why??)
Does it mean he lived 130 years after he had sons and daughters, then he had Seth?
Does it mean he had the sons and daughters in the 800 years after he had Seth?
Now, once again using your view, scripture only tells us that he had the sons and daughters after he had Seth, during the 800-year period. It says nothing anywhere else giving the timeline as to when they were born. Saying he had children between Cain and Seth would be “adding your own opinion” as you say we do.
So, not adding our opinion, using your view, Cain had to marry another woman from another tribe, not from Adam.
For Cain to marry his sister, Adam would have to have been over 130 years old and how old would Cain have to have been, not including the daughter coming to maturity? Also, we are told, chronologically in the chapters, Cain married before Seth was born.
Also, where does it say Cain married his sister? That would be an opinion just as much as saying he didn’t marry a sister.
My point to all this is whichever way one views certain verses; does it curtail salvation? Does it make one a Satan worshipper, does it make us so sad we can’t read?
There is more bickering being done by so called Christians over the stupidest things because some think it is there way or the highway. It’s really laughable and Satan loves it.
Instead of thinking in a negative way, why not look at it as, “hey they must be reading a lot of scripture to even bring these things to the table”. Isn’t that the whole point here,? to bring forth things, discuss, instead of insults?
If anyone thinks they, have it all, know it all, and the rest are wrong and lost, needs to read Mark 9:40-41.
You people are debating over matters that actually don’t matter. If god wanted you to know all about this stuff he would have made it so much clearer. Do you really think God cares? Just read the bible as is, exactly how God wants it to be read and stop adding blah, blah, blah stuff… Just like the Pharisees & Sadducees they knew it all but yet didn’t have a clue about God.
In a sense, you’re right Paul.
The only thing that matters is that we accept Jesus Christ, live a Godly life, and we’ll obtain eternal life. Outside of that, we don’t need to understand a whole lot, do we?
However, some people like to learn, some people like to discuss Scripture, which helps to build their faith. I can only speak for myself, but I need to know more about Scripture than salvation. I’m a logical person, I ask questions, I seek answers, about everything in life. If I couldn’t make sense of the entire Bible, then I couldn’t be a believer.
So for me, I need to study and understand these things. Personally, I could never accept Jesus just because someone told me too, or because a verse in a Book called the New Testament said I should.
For me, and many others, we have to try the fruit of the entire Bible, to see if it’s really what it proclaims to be, the Word of God.
Paul,
Why do you think many churches are failing? Why are many leaders in those churches clueless as to scripture. They just read. They are just words on a page. We don’t need the big fancy buildings for someone to tell us 3+4 scriptures a week. They are supposed to be the Bereans and bring the total word forth. At the rate they teach, it would take 60 years to complete the Bible one time.
Most have turned into social clubs because the sermons contain no meat as Paul talked about. How many years can they go on singing “Jesus loves me this I know”? Most are bored because they learn nothing, hence the social club.
Do you really think God cares about the nation of Israel saying they are the chosen when His word says they are not? Most don’t even know why they were picked out of the crowd, and to do what. I would think He cares about all those innocent people being slaughtered in the Gaza. Most so-called Christians agree with the killing because they don’t investigate as we do. They don’t even know what the term Jew really means.
Ask anyone out there why Easter, the supposed resurrection day, why is it always on a different calendar day ever year?
I asked that question to church people when I was a teenager and it took 40 years till, I got an answer, which I had to figure out myself. Watch the blank stares you get when you ask. They don’t even know that there is no scripture that says we are to celebrate it.
Men, tell your wives happy birthday or happy anniversary on the wrong day every year and see how much love that shows her. Here we are talking about the creator of the universe. You would think people would care enough to at least have the right day marked for it.
Being a church goer years ago, I never heard of a Strongs Concordance. How sad is that? How can a person understand the words, if they don’t know the true translations?
This is what 2 Timothy 2:15 is all about.
When someone says living the gay lifestyle is approved in scripture, or other forbidden practices, and they will have cherry picked scripture to show they are right, without digging deeper, how do you show them they were misled?
I mean no offense here, I like Brandon and others, enjoy the digging deeper, how it all fits together, the Old and the New. To me, that is what church is, the gathering to debate, which is a very good thing. It is fun and exciting. That is how you grow and learn. At least I do. How much pleasure do you think it gives the Saviour when He sees His family care that much to spend the extra time with Him?
Psalms 133:1 is what comes to mind here. God bless!!
