Brandon, Your Flood Study Lacks Real Depth

WEB: This one’s a dozy my friends. As I’ll point out, you always want to cross check your work or you’ll make a big mistake like this reader did…

Dennis: Your study of scripture seems to be superficial and lacks any depth. I would suggest that you spend time reading the Septuagint and you might even like to compare the Dead Sea Scrolls to modern English translations.

There is one verse you may want to consider when talking about the ability of the animals to find food and to repopulate on the earth. Gen. 8:10-11. There were definitely plants growing before they left the Ark.

I would be interested in hearing more from Dennis. I guess I’m not fully understanding his criticism concerning Brandon’s study on Noah’s Flood. I found it to be excellent; and I spend as much time, or more, researching the manuscripts as I do reading the English translation.

Not sure if Dennis will read this, but I’m gonna say it anyway. Out of love of course.
Dennis, we appreciate your view of this subject matter and value your input. Open discussions on differences of opinions are healthy. But, then you go and say this,
…Get to know Him and then you’ll be more able to tell others what HIS WORD says.

Your comment went from honesty to arrogance, even holier than thou in one statement. Suggesting that Brandon doesn’t “know Him” is a cheap shot and low blow. This site has been a resource of mine for over a decade. Does Brandon know everything? Of course not, he would admit to that. Guess what…neither do you sir. I certainly do not. None of us do!

So, let’s build each other up and share our different opinions with humility and grace. By doing so, we will All get to know Him on a deeper level.

I am in awe of Brandon’s ability to articulate a response so calmly. I think Dennis was doing 2 things. He was letting us know how smart he is and also pushing Brandon to react in a way that is not Christ like. Anyone who has been here for some time will agree that Brandon is never provoked.
Since we are on the subject of the flood. I would like to also include the flat earth topic with my opinion. I do not want to diminish the word of God, but regarding both topics. I really do not see the battle or debate. Does it really matter in my walk with God if the earth is flat or the flood was local or global? People get so worked up about these 2 topics. I can not understand that…

God Bless ,

Chris

Well the creation to alot of us is not a salvation topic i agree. But i know ppl it is a salvation topic to. They open and read gen 1 and say this is garbage science says otherwise. As a Christian we are called to study the word. When i read gen 1 and its says there is waters above and then nasa says otherwise who do i trust? God created a firmament nasa says nothing about that :man_shrugging:I go down a deep research hole and study and pray and read both side with the Bible my ultimate guide. I trust the scripture that says the sun moves around the earth not what nasa says. My pastor had a great quote i thought that he said right theology is right thoughts about God. If he sings a song to his wife about her having red hair and she has black hair what is she gonna think? I dont know it all but i love to study deep with an open mind to fully do as much as i can. I work with alot of conspiracy theorists so this topic to me is important and helps share my faith to those around me. Everyone is diff but that’s my story as I’m going with the Bible over what the government tells me all. The understanding for me makes the Bible come alive more and so many more bible verses make sense to me. So for me its important very important i hate to be lied to or deceived especially if satan is twisting what God did. Other that don’t care about it. That’s fine. I only answer to God for me. Not others.

A deacon in my bible study class his son is deep into the ancient aliens stuff and really questioning the Bible to as much he’s doubting it. He is deceived. So him thinking there is outer space and other planets with aliens now he’s wondered from the faith. Its satan deception. The bible clearly states there is a firmament with waters above and below. Its solid. So i dont believe in outer space i believe gen 1 there is waters above the firmament not infinite space.

This is the same way I feel about the rapture doctrine. If non rapture believers would be on the bus, why argue over it. Plan for the worst and have faith in the best.
