For many “Just War Theory” is misunderstood or not know at all. God’s word clearly provides for self-defense, be it an individual or a nation state. My reading of the ethical response provides for Israel to defend itself but to launch a war or military operation killing indiscriminately crosses the boundary or a just war. I’ve made a conscious decision based on God’s laws to leave the “church” years ago. My beliefs have estranged me from “friends” and some family, but we’re told these things will occur if we stand on the perfect example of my Christ Jesus. Americans have allowed our governments to engage in unjust wars since WWI. Certainly, America was “justified” to defend ourselves against the Japanese aggression, but no further, during WWII and if you bother to understand The Liberty attack we had just grounds to make war against Israel, but we chose to use that attack unjustly and engage in another unjust war.
